Scissor lift hire in Cyprus — what you get

Also called: scissor lift · electric scissor lift · scissors · Skyjack, JLG, Genie

A scissor lift is the simplest way to work at a height with two people and their tools: a platform that goes straight up to 6, 8, 12 or 18 m and stays there. Ceilings and lighting, cabling and ducts, shelving and signage in warehouses and shops, render and paint on a facade you can park under — anything that is directly above the floor.

Electric models are quiet, have non-marking tyres and need a flat, firm floor: shops, offices, halls, finished buildings. The smallest pass a standard door and ride in a lift; the 12 m ones want about 1.2 m. Diesel rough-terrain models go outside on asphalt, gravel or a slope, up to 18 m, and are the ones for building sites. Neither needs an operator from us — the controls are a joystick and a button, and the operator shows you on delivery.

The machine is delivered on a trailer or a low-loader and collected when you are done; the price is per day, cheaper per day for a week or a month. Say what the narrowest opening on the way in is and whether the floor is indoors, paved or rough, and the operator sends one that fits.

Questions

What people ask before their first booking.

Scissor lift or cherry picker?

A scissor lift goes straight up and carries two people with tools — ceilings, walls, shelving, a facade you can park under. To reach over something (a roof edge, a tree, a balcony) you need a cherry picker.

Will it fit through my door?

The small electric ones are 0.76–0.81 m wide and pass a standard door; the 12 m ones want about 1.2 m. Say what the narrowest opening on the way in is and the operator sends one that fits.

Do I need an operator?

No. The controls are simple and the operator shows you on delivery. You need a flat floor and someone who stays on the ground.

Can I use it outside?

On asphalt or concrete, yes, any model. On soil, gravel or a slope you need the diesel rough-terrain version — tick that in the request.

How is it priced?

Per day, cheaper per day for a week or a month. Delivery is on top and depends on the distance; the operator confirms the total before you agree.
